Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 August 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information Aether Games ("we", "us") collects when you use our chat-minigame platform for Twitch streamers, how we use it, and the choices you have. We only collect what we need to run the Service, we never sell personal data, and we keep public leaderboards intentionally simple.
2. What we collect
- Twitch profile information: your Twitch user ID, login name, display name and profile picture, provided when you sign in with Twitch. Your profile picture is shown on leaderboards and in on-stream drop announcements.
- Engagement events: when your channel triggers a drop (follow, subscription, gift sub, resub, bits or donation), we record the event type, the viewer's Twitch name and ID, and the points awarded.
- Points and leaderboard data: points balances, win history, leaderboard positions, and guild membership and roles.
- Settings and configuration: your overlay settings (theme, position, sounds), game settings, and preferences such as chat announcements.
- Technical data: basic connection logs (IP address, timestamps, browser/device type) used for security and troubleshooting.
We do not collect or store payment details, passwords, or private chat messages.
3. How we use information
We use the information above to: operate and maintain the Service (including detecting engagement events and awarding points), display leaderboards and avatars, post drop announcements in chat when you enable them, prevent abuse and cheating, and improve the product. We may use aggregate, de-identified statistics (for example, total players or points) publicly.
4. Public information
Leaderboards are public. By earning points on any connected channel, your Twitch name, avatar and point totals may appear on public leaderboards and shared guild pages, and your name may appear in chat announcements when the relevant streamer has enabled them. You can contact us to request removal from public leaderboards (see section 9).
5. Cookies and sessions
We use a session cookie (aether_session) to keep you signed in. It is HTTP-only and expires after seven days. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Third parties
Twitch provides sign-in (OAuth), account data, event feeds (EventSub/Helix) and avatar hosting. When you trigger events or sign in, Twitch shares the specific information listed in section 2 with us under Twitch's developer terms. Donations and bits are processed by Twitch or the third-party platform you use; we never see your payment details. We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
7. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active so the Service (including leaderboards and guilds) works correctly. If you want your account data deleted, contact us using section 9 and we will remove your personal data, points and leaderboard entries within a reasonable timeframe, subject to technical and legal limits (for example, where data is required to prevent fraud or comply with law).
8. Security
All traffic is served over HTTPS, sessions are signed and HTTP-only, and access to administrative functions is restricted and logged. No service is completely secure, but we apply reasonable measures to protect your data.
9. Your rights and contact
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. To make a request or ask a question about this policy, contact us through the Aether Games website (aethergames.win). We aim to respond within 30 days.
10. Minors
The Service is intended for users who meet Twitch's minimum age requirements (13 years or older) and who can enter into a binding agreement. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be highlighted when reasonably practicable.
